EveryBodyKnowsLo: Rapper killed in nightclub shooting at Miami Beach, 2 women injured

MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA: Rapper Lowell Grissom, better known as EveryBodyKnowsLO, has reportedly been killed in a shooting that also injured two women at a Miami Beach nightclub on Sunday, May 7. The incident took place before 4 am when the Miami Beach Police Department received a 911 call regarding shots fired at the address of the GALA nightclub in the city’s South Beach area.

Upon arrival, the responding officers found three gunshot victims - one male and two females, who were transported to Ryder Trauma Centre. Despite doctors’ relentless efforts, Grissom died in hospital due to his injuries. However, the authorities noted that the two injured women are expected to recover soon. Police have launched an investigation but the motive behind the shooting is as yet unknown. A man, who was at his job near the nightclub when bullets were fired, recalled, “The club’s security ran out to the street. The women ran out of the club crying and were all shaken up.”

Following the shooting, the GALA nightclub released a statement on social media. “We are shocked and deeply saddened by the isolated and targeted incident that occurred last night at our upscale establishment. Our condolences are with the family and friends of the victim during this time. We are fully committed to providing assistance and cooperating with the Miami Beach PD as they conduct their ongoing investigation,” the statement read. This incident came just a few weeks after rapper Kiernan Forbes was shot dead outside a prominent restaurant in South Africa on February 10, 2023. Forbes, whose stage name was AKA, was shot while standing on the pavement when gunfire rang out shortly after 10 pm. "I can confirm that two men were killed and one of them is a well-known rapper. Police will not be releasing any names of the victims yet until a full investigation is completed," KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda said, as per ’s previous report.

Two men were reportedly walking to their car after leaving the restaurant when they were approached by "two armed suspects who walked to them from across the street and shot the victims at close range," the statement reads. According to reports, the suspects ran away from the scene on foot. Police have stated that they are investigating two counts of murder.
