NBA Star Tristan Thompson Seeks Legal Guardianship of Younger Brother Following Mothers Passing
Tristan Thompson, the NBA star, has initiated legal proceedings to take responsibility for his 17-year-old brother, Amari Thompson.
According to TMZ, the 32-year-old basketball player has requested formal guardianship, nine months after the passing of their mother, Andrea.
Due to several medical conditions, including epilepsy, Amari requires support and care that he is unable to provide for himself.
Furthermore, Amari is set to receive $103,475 following their mother’s passing, and as his guardian, Tristan will be able to safeguard his assets, as reported by the outlet.
With their father, Trevor, absent from their lives, Tristan stands as the sole family member able to provide the necessary care for Amari.
Tragically, their mother, Andrea, passed away in early January due to a heart attack at the age of 53.
Andrea had been Amari’s primary caregiver, and following her passing, Amari was placed under Tristan’s care, prompting a move to Los Angeles, where Tristan resides.
